I upgraded using Preupgrade yesterday and it worked absolutely fine.
To get rid of 'the whole preupgrade option'
1. As a root user, edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst file and remove the
lines which are something like this :
title Upgrade to F14
root (hd*,*)
kernel /boot/upgrade/vmlinuz
initrd /boot/upgrade/initrd.img
savedefault
boot
2. Remove the directory /boot/upgrade too. I think thats it!
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I was thinking of doing it this brute
way too. But, I'm a bit apprehensive if that causes any permanent
blemish to the system. Earlier some friends here, in situations
involving yum or revisor suggested some elegant ways. Just waiting if
some such suggestion come up. :)
