Hi can I contribute if I do not use IRC (Freenode).
I find that my time is limited. I can read an email, so I do not have to be online to
watch the chats.
I prefer to have some documents, code, executable, script thrown my way, and I can install
and test same, or update /write good concise accurate documentation
I used to prgram in assembler, for speed and size, but currently do most of my coding in C
or C++.
I do substantial writng on technical stuff, and when I reread it a few days later, I am
impressed with how good it is. (Self praise is no glory, but good lucid explanations in
grammatical sentence construction helps)
Some feedback please. Please mention Fedora-Join in the subject line.
Regards
Leslie

Hi Stephen,
Welcome! I see you go to Winthrop, awesome. I live in Darlington, SC
(work in Florence). I am an Ambassador, and the Ambassador project is
awesome. It's a good starting point, however you may want to get
involved in some other area first, to get to know some folks and just
kinda see how Fedora works. One thing you could do, is log into
#fedora-ambassadors on IRC (freenode) and say hi to everyone (I'm
jaysonr on freenode). Once you are sure you want to be an ambassador,
you can follow this process:
Another possibility is getting involved in some SIG's (Special
Interest Groups) that center around things you are interested in from
Fedora yourself (for example, I'm a member of the KDE, Ruby and
Xfce
SIG's). I'm sure you may have seen this already, but here is
a section
on the Fedora website about some of the areas where you can get
You will also want to go ahead and start creating a Wiki page (part
of
becoming an Ambassador anyway), here is mine
others as well.
All of my contact info is on my Wiki page, as well as this e-mail
address I'm sending from, so feel free to contact me anytime if
you'd
like some guidance.
Above all, welcome to the Fedora community!
