New Fedora member
by George Roberge
Greetings, everyone!
I have been looking for a way to help the FOSS community, and during the
Boston GNU/Linux Fest it was recommended that I visit the Fedora table.
I'm looking for a structured group to join and do something useful for
the community, and I was told that Fedora has the structure and
organization that I seek.
Anyhow, I have been a Debian user for years, am a FOSS advocate (read
"zealot" there), and am more than willing to focus on Fedora if I can be
useful here, instead. I did install it on my laptop, and have been
using it for a week.
I have a Jack-of-All-Trades background in IT, so I'm not a master of any
subject, so I am guessing that I would be able to serve the community
better in the Ambassador or Marketing areas, but it is naturally too
early to tell. I have joined the Fedora site (username "uplink"), have
subscribed to a few mailing lists, and am going to start digging in,
using the "Explore the Fedora Project" page as a guide.
I'm from Western Massachusetts, and I don't know of a lot of FOSS
activity out here, but I haven't spent too much time looking. Maybe
that will change in the future!
I hope to be able to contribute something to the project.
Take care.

Any newcomers here?
by Ankur Sinha
Hi!
The list has been too quiet of late. Yet, I've been getting subscription
notifications telling me that new people are in-fact subscribing to the
list. The logical conclusion here is that new people are joining the
list, but *not* using it. I'm not sure why that would be. Are new comers
shy, or are they scared of being flamed, or is there another reason?
I request/invite/implore any newcomers here to please go ahead and ask
the list *whatever* you want, related to contributing to Fedora of
course. We'll be more than happy to answer your questions and help you
become part of the community.
We do not bite, I promise!
In the unlikely case that you have no questions and are well on your way
to contributing to Fedora, I'll request you to at least send the list an
e-mail introducing yourself. That'll tell us who you are, what you do,
what you want to work on, and we can help you and introduce you to more
folks that we know.

Beat writers required for the FWN
by Ankur Sinha
Hi folks,
FWN is a great way of contributing to Fedora. You basically read up on
various mailing lists and summarize what's been going on. It keeps you
(and the community) up to date on happenings within the community (and
is also a great way to practice your writing skills!)

Akanksha , Introduction on fedora-join and question about wiki user page.
by Akanksha Sharma
Hi ,
I am Akanksha, from Bangalore. I have started as Fedora user few months
back. I shorthand Fedora as F os. (No offence) F stands for Fedora,
Fun, and Field deployments which are my interests. :-)
I am exited to contribute in the project .I am connecting F vms with other
FOSS servers. enabling prototype of field deployment for servers and
systems. also setting up the test lab for regular testing of F releases.
Thanks for the great support via mailing lists.
I have a Question related to user page creation in Wiki.
Is there any direct template to create the user page, or I need to type
HTML in the edit field. Please point me if there is any template for user
page creation.
Thanks
Akanksha
