If you are interested in open source marketing, there is a Fedora Marketing team you could say hello to. They are not the most active but there is a lot of room for creativity there. Hello Fedora Team, My name is Tushar and I am really excited to add value in the Fedora project. However, I'm not sure where to begin as I'm no Linux guru and I may have to spend more time learning about different things. Fedora Advocates 2. Marie Nordin's proposal for future of Ambassadors First: In the last two years, Mindshare Committee tried to improve event organizing process. This is done through the Advocate program, managed by Mindshare Committee. I see this process working well for folks who use it. Hello. There is this task that is stuck. <https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs/issue/165> Someone was working on it, but it is some time that I'm unable to contact him (since a couple of months). I really hope that he is fine and he is simply busy in something good. So, if someone is interested in taking this task, please get in touch with us here in the mailing list or on Telegram/IRC. What's to be done:: there is a draft of the document on the wiki. We need to review the steps, if they are working. Then to write a quick doc and submit it for a review. Thanks, A.

Hello. Here are some random info: F30 EOL, i3 window manager, Java, QA. Fedora 30 will reach EOL (End Of Life, that is, it will no longer receive updates) on May, 26. A new SIG (Special Interest Group) is being born. It is about the i3 tiling window manager. If you like such window manager, and you would like to see a new Fedora Spin in the future, keep an eye on this new team. [1] There are some efforts to relaunch the Java SIG. If you are interested in maintaining some Java package, get in touch with them. [2] Fedora QA (Quality Assurance) team is planning an onboarding call. Hi everyone, I am Akashdeep Dhar (t0xic0der) from India - I have been distrohopping since 15 and finally found my home at Fedora. Recently, I had posted a guide about enabling NVIDIA as Primary GPU on Optimus laptops which garnered a lot of attention in both Fedora Forums and the subreddit. I am adept in programming languages like Python and C++ and know Qt 5. Here (https://github.com/t0xic0der/) and (https://github.com/astrosonic/) is a collection of projects I have been into. Hello team, I'm Peter Lilley; I live in Sydney, Australia. I've been using desktop Linux for a long time, and figured it was time to get off my duff and contribute ;) My FAS username is "couchfox", which is a long-running joke between my wife and me. I have 15+ years working for B2B tech companies, and with a specific passion for the cybersecurity space. I love using Fedora as my personal OS-of-choice, so I thought I would start here on the journey to, as they say, give something back. I have quite a bit of experience in tech marketing and was hoping to contribute in areas such as how-tos and other short-form or long-form writing. I look forward to collaborating with you! ~peter

Help wanted: F32 screenshots

Hello. As you know, Fedora 32 was released this week. For each release, the marketing team use to take screenshots of the various Spins, Editions and Desktop Environments. The initial purpose of this work was to make available some images that could be freely used by magazines, bloggers and so on. Another purpose, probably more current nowadays, is to keep an historic library of each release (it could be always useful in the future, and it is interesting to see how an old release looked like). So. Your help is needed to take some screenshots. You can look at Fedora 31 screenshots [1] as an example. The work could look tedious, but it is pretty simple. It will be less tedious if more people take care of each single Spin/Desktop Environment. The work you are supposed to do is as follow: - comment the related ticket [2] notifying other people that you will work on the selected Spin/DE/Edition - download the appropriate ISO [3] - create a VM using virt-manager and boot the ISO - perform the installation - in virt-manager select the "Virtual Machine" menu then select "Take Screenshot".
