Hello everyone!
My name is Tom Black (yetimaan) in the eastern time zone of the USA. I
have roughly 20 years working with computers and using linux.
Professionally, I've been working as a front end web developer for 14 years
and also doing team lead work with big enterprise-level companies like
Walmart, Sam's Club, Ford Motor Company, White Cloud, and J. B. Hunt
Transport.
Would you believe the first linux distro I tried was Red Hat 9 in 2002? :D
I also got a RHEL Certification around 2008-ish when RHEL 4 was heavily
used.
After spending the past 14 years (and counting) on closed-source web
applications, I'd like to give some of my time to the project so I can help
the community and make my work more public.
I've narrowed my initial interest in the infra: Web and Apps work as I have
a strong background working with UX/Creative (Sass) and FE JS frameworks
like Angular, React, and jQuery, but I'm also open to packaging.
I'm raising one daughter, two dogs, and three fish. Obsessed with mountain
biking and pretty much rubber to the trails when it's nice out.
Thanks for having me!
- Tom
