Greetings everyone! My name is John and I'm a Junior working on my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems. I recently got involved with Linux a year and half ago. But I have and seen Linux used by one of my friends in High School. It wasn't until a little over a year ago when I wanted to learn and use Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 because I thought it was a interesting product for people with a small IT infrastructure to use for there small business. To my dismay I found out that good ole' MS had cut support 1-2 years ago and so it was irrelevant for me to learn it because it was unsupported like XP. Long story short, I came to one of my professors wanting to do a research project on open source Linux / software adaptation for small business particularly targeting the server. Since then I have made a very capable distro from Ubuntu that would replace + give SB owners the resource to run there own server from there own hardware. I am still in the Alpha stages of slimming down Ubuntu and sending it to Canonical for evaluation so it can be marked as a official distro/remix. (Please bare with me.) Up and till today I was going to do Ubuntu but since Fedora released there Alpha build of Fedora Server I may change it to Fedora Server after all. (I visited Fedora's booth at Texas Linux Feast this past summer which they were talking about Fedora.next/Fedora 21). However I want to get in touch with the server group so I can maybe see if I can get them too add my software stack + some other software that I would like to make bundled for the server roles, but I want to make my presence be known to the community before I start posting in other mailing list. Just a courtesy. :) Lastly, I have basic skills in Java, C#, BASH, and some C (Got me a book on scripting circa 1990 for scripting, so I'm learning a bit at a time.). Also I am well versed in hardware and networking. Also I have a dire love for embedded, (even though I'm new, I think there are tons of possibilities for stuff to be done in this sector.) Hello my name is Laura Tait, and I have been using Linux for 5 years and I am still enjoying using Linux to this day (especially Fedora). I have a Associates Degree in Linux/Unix Administration and I am going for a Bachelor's in Cyber Defense at Baker College in Flint, Michigan. Hi, my name is Marcin (just call me Frank :) ), I'm from Poland, I have experience with Python, Javascript, Postgresql and few others. I work as programmer in polish portal onet.pl. I decided to join fedoraproject because I would like to get experience in OS programming and I like fedora, everyday I have contact with web technology, but my goal is to become OS developer in some company outside of the country. I'm interested to develop in C/C++, but I don't have big experience with this language (only few not commercial project), because of this I have question :) Can you advise me which team will be good to start ? I will be happy if I had contact with kernel or something associated with network. Sorry for my english, i'm working on it :) Frank

Fwd: Joining fedoraproject as bugzapper

Hello, I would like to join fedoraproject as bugzapper. I have some experience with c programming and technical knowledge, meaning i can better understand the root of a problem. I have already installed some recommended tools for firefox and checked open bugs for Fedora 21. Strangely for me there are less open bugs in Rawhide than 21. First problem with first serious linux

Hi ! Many years I used Windows. I'm software developer. Always in job I write Windows Software in C, C++, Pascal, C# and sql procudures in Firebird. For ages I was big Windows fan. Windows is very good system. Many software and drivers makes Windows as very user frendly enviroment. Unfortunately, new Windows 8.1 has ugly privacy politic, ugly interface, many not optimal functional. This reasons makes, that I decided change system. Linux support my favorite games ( native, or wine runs excelent ), pascal and C development and email services. I very value open source and safe my privacy. Fedora is very awsome system. Fedora give me stable system, yum and makes, that, I can write software and I have no problem with stable or install software. I use laptop, Lenovo B590. I have few problem with support my hardware ( light screen ), but I dont know where I may ask. When I change light power first screen is full light, next one level lower than first light, next full light, next two lower than first light etc. Please, give me some doc's about support light controler, or man about drivers to light screen, or some solve. This problem is very arduous. Thank you for your help, and I sorry for my English ( I still learn English ). Łukasz Gabryel.
