Replace '//boot' with '/boot' in both instances and re-run ybin. Then
check that Open Firmware's 'boot-device' variable is correctly getting
set (to something like 'hd:12,\\:tbxi'). Try booting from OF by holding
Alt-Option-O-F while powering on, and typing 'boot hd:12,\\:tbxi'
Thanks David. I updated the yaboot.conf file.
I tried OF, the result was:
--
Welcome
Welcome to yaboot version 1.3.12
Enter "help" to get some basic usage information
boot:Linux
Please wait, loading kernel...
/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/ata-4@1f000/disk@0:9,//boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-1.667:

I notice there is a '//boot' in there, but there is not one in yaboot.conf.
any other ideas?
Thanks.
