[Fwd: Re: [pypy-dev] PPC64 JIT progress]
by David Malcolm
Looks like PyPy [1] is close to porting their JIT-compiler to PPC, but
need a ppc64 box.
I don't know if it's appropriate to bring this up here, but does anyone
have a ppc64 box for them to use? (I don't know if it's an ongoing
thing though).
Thanks
Dave

libnice on PPC64
by Peter Lemenkov
Hello All.
The libnice package constantly fails to pass at least one test (
./test-symbols.sh - test for properly exported symbols ) on ppc64. I'm
sure that the problem is with wrong path to some scripts of binaries
while executing this test.
http://ppc.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=3595
Could someone with PPC64 hadrware investigate this issue, please. This
package blocks a lot of VoIP related stuff from rebuilding. Or maybe
we should just disable this test (or even the entirel %check target)
on PPC64.

Apologies, perhaps a bit of cart before the horse on my end. The current fedora-ppc@ list is focused on "List for discussion of fedora on the ppc platform, particularly Apple Macintosh centric". With the current revival effort of the Power architecture in Fedora as a secondary arch, the team working on that is primarily focused on ppc64. While there are certainly are similar challenges from a release engineering perspective, it seems appropriate to me to just call the new list what it focused on ... ppc64(a)lists.fedoraproject.org.
I fully expect there to be knowledge sharing between ppc and ppc64, however very little of the install media produced for ppc64 will be useful for non-IBM hardware.
Thoughts/comments/concerns?
Thanks,
James

Is a updated version if Fedora available now for installation on a ppc
by Robert Hagan
Greetings to all. I have two ppc PowerStations (4 PPC970MP's) running
Fedora 12 and have a few days free time. Is there working ISO
available that I can use to update my system? If not, is there a way
I can upgrade now to a working version of Fedora 15 or 16?
Best wishes, Robert.
