2.6.17-1.2139_F: suspend ( sleep ) broken ?
by Charles-Edouard Ruault
Hi All,
i've just upgraded to the latest kernel this morning. I closed the lid
of my Alu Powerbook G4, as usual but when i opened it to wake up the
machine , nothing happened.
I had to hard reboot.
I reproduced this 2 times today and also experience a machine freeze
while unplugging an usb mouse & the power cord.
Has someone else experienced problems like this ?
In the meantime i went back to 2.6.16-1.2133_F, and everything is back
to normal.
My config is

iMac internal modem recognition
by Randy Workman
FC5 seems to work flawlessly on my imac/G3, except that the internal modem is
not recognized on /dev/tty0, /dev/tty1 or /dev/modem using any method I have
tried--KPPP, Gnome network control panel, pppconfig or running "wvdialconf
update" as root. The error message is "modem busy." I had the same problem with
Kubuntu 5.10. However, with Ubuntu 5.04, the modem was recognized with no
problem as /dev/tty0.

FW: SCSI-firewire
by Erick Calder
ok. the converter I¹m using is this:
http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/firerex1.html
the only thing I see happen to the log when I plug/unplug the drive is:
Jun 20 02:38:48 arix kernel: ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node
0-00:1023
as for the DLT drive I¹m using, I¹m not really sure. it came out of a
Compaq Por-Liant.
here¹s /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: WDC WD12 Model: 00BB-00DWA0 Rev: 15.0
Type: Direct-Access-RBC ANSI SCSI revision: 04
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: WDC WD12 Model: 00BB-00DWA0 Rev: 15.0
Type: Direct-Access-RBC ANSI SCSI revision: 04
(what you see attached are two Firewire drives I have connected which work
ok).

SCSI-firewire
by Erick Calder
my MacMini comes with neither SCSI nor a PCI slot for a SCSI controller.
what it does come with is 1 Firewire 400 port.
I have a DlT that I want to back up to, so I bought a SCSI-Firewire
converter. I've installed mt-st but when I try to run mt the system
complains that:
/dev/tape: No such file or directory
help?
TIA - erick
p.s. I'm running FC5, here's uname -a:

fresh install FC5 mac mini not booting.
by Michael Steinfeld
I just did a fresh install on a mac mini and other than chaning the
resolition at boot the install went fine. I am instlaling FC5 to use
the whole disk so I just chose default disk partitioning, I did see
that there was a 1mb partition for Apple Bootstrap.
After the install completes, when I reboot I get teh little folder
icon and the system wont boot.
I am 'sure' I am missing something here minor. Any help is appreciate.
thanks in advance,
