Can't boot Fedora 4 on my Mac (PPC, G4)
by Scott Kaplan
I have the exact same problem as Errol did back in June but I could
not find a posted solution. I have spent many hours (what seems like
endless hours) trying to solve it.
Paul or anyone, do you know how I can solve this problem? ... and
yes, I do have multiple installation discs (5 CDs).
Thanks,
Scott

I'm pretty sure this is a bug that was for final:
Can you confirm if you have multiple disks?
If so I can talk you through repairing - it's a recoverable issue.

FC4 Final - new iMac G5 lcd17" - successful install but Mouse freezes
by nixchick
Hi everyone,
Could someone advise us if a solution exists
involving the following:
Problem relates to Fedora Core 4 Final for PPC.
The mouse / keyboard freeze up post a successful install and first boot
up to the GUI Login Screen. At the login the mouse
and keyboard freeze up. We have never seen a GUI Desktop yet.
There are no error messages. The problem then requires a hard power off !
Rebooting only has the freeze up reoccur.
Details of my PC.

An earlier Member of this mailing list seems to suggest that the sound
driver may be freezing things up. Is this likely to be
our problem also ?
If so could someone advise me and other newer iMac 64bit G5 owners of
the how and the where i/we disable the sound drivers.
This possibly may need to be done from something like a "Rescue Prompt"
perhaps ??
It was a great and very, very easy install though folks, great stuff,
our FC Dev Team, you really have done us proud.
FC4 and FC5 will be a real blessing on our newer mac's.
There are Updated iso's at the following URL Addresses in the iso
folder....
But ..... will they solve the Mouse / Keyboard Freeze problem on my
iMac 64bit G5 ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, re the above problem, we would
like to hear from anyone with the same
Apple Model iMac 64bit G5 that has successfuly got FC4 or the new
Update installed and booting successfuly
to a GUI Desktop.
Many thanks for allowing us to post our problem on your Mailing List.
cheers,
nixchick.
