they are already enabled as built-in, see
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/kernel.git/tree/config-powerpc64?h=f22 Yes,
I've been able to access a shell by adding "init=/bin/bash" on the
kernel command line.
The modules needed to calm down fans are : i2c-powermac and
windfarm_pm72 (this one triggers the others).
They are, of course, available in the ISO.
But what I don't understand is why they are available as modules whereas
they have been marked as 'y' (not 'm') in the config.
I guess this is because CONFIG_I2C is set to 'm' in config-generic. You
should set it to 'y' in config-powerpc64 (at least, like in
config-armv7-generic) to pull windfarm and i2c-powermac.Otherwise, I
think the i2c-powermac module is not automatically loaded by the kernel.
