Hi all (but mainly our Talos users :-)),
I have prepared 2 add-on repositories using the Fedora Copr [1]
buildsystem that are meant to (temporarily) complement regular Fedora
repos for better user experience in the desktop use case on Power
hardware, like the Raptor's Talos [2].
The first is "sharkcz/talos" [3] that carries updated user space
packages that need some additional fixes, like mesa (issue fixed in
18.2) or new ports to ppc64le (like the QT WebEngine based on the
Chromium browser, work in progress). And it will carry packages that
depend on the new ports (for example qmapshack 1.12+).
The second one is "sharkcz/talos-kernel" [4] which combines the Fedora
Rawhide NoDebug kernels [5] (pre-releases with debugging options
disabled) with patches mostly to improve graphic drivers behaviour and
possibly other selected patches (now it contains IPv6 checksumming
patch [6] that's waiting to be merged to the mainline kernel). The
graphics related patch set is taken from Raptor's tree [7]. Its way to
mainline will be longer, I guess.
With these repos I'm a happy desktop-on-Power9 user :-)
