bind mounts versus symlinks?
No, that wasn't the problem.
I just noticed that it was a typo that caused the error!
I actually typed:
# ln -s /usr/www/cobbler /var/www/cobber
instead of
# ln -s /usr/www/cobbler /var/www/cobbler
Note the missing "l" (el) in cobbler when creating the symbolic link.
Sorry for the confusion.
