Hi,
When I run
koan --list=profiles -s localhost
I get the following error

I am using the web GUI and it works ok, no problems.

Restoring an inherited value for a child profile?
by Zack Perry
I have a profile that is created using the command:
cobbler profile add --name=... --parent=...
The child profile's 'Template Files' attribute originally inherited
from its parent. For testing, I changed it using
cobbler profile edit --name=...
Once I was done, I thought that the defaults in the parent profile
were sufficient, so I wanted to restore the <<inherit>> value. But,
neither cobbler profile edit --help nor man cobbler offer any hints
how to do so. I tried the cobbler web UI as a last resort, no dice
either.
Yeah, I can cobbler profile remove --name=... to delete the modified
child profile and then recreate it. It's not that hard, but
conceptually it's uneconomical :-(
So the Q: is it possible to restore an inherited value for a profile
attribute? If so, what is the correct work flow?
Regards,

login failed
by David Birdsong
I recently restarted my fairly new installation of cobblerd and I'm not
getting the XML-RPC error: login failed
Full traceback:
https://gist.github.com/davidbirdsong/5688501
I'm sure this is simple and possibly related to settings changes I made,
but I'm lost as to which changes affect this.

centos standalone dvd saying no centos cd found
by Jason Graham
Hello,
Has anyone else experience this when using the buildiso standalone with
centos 6.3? I am using cobbler beta 3. The error pops up directly
after anaconda pops up. When I follow the same steps with rhel; it works
fine.
Thanks,
Jason

cobbler reposync only -- more than one ?
by Dan White
the "only" option for reposync: only one or can I specify two or three ? And if so, how ?
I tried --only="repo1,repo2" and that did not work

cobbler 2.4 and ubuntu12
by Rainer Duffner
Hi,
I've installed a brand-new cobbler 2.4b5 server on centos6-amd64.
I need to install a couple of Ubuntu12 servers with it.
I've never installed Ubuntu before, much less via cobbler - so I'd be
grateful for some advice.
The idea is to:
- install via eth1
- leave eth0 alone, or better, already give it the "final"
configuration, via cobbler
This works on my CentOS and RedHat installs on my "old" cobbler 2.2.3
server.
Obviously, it's not so simple with Ubuntu.
I've taken the sample.preseed file and adapted it minimally.
One problem I have is:
- if I try to enter the default gateway in the cobbler-webgui
(Networking (Global)), I get problem that all leases are abandoned
because somehow the interface is "up" before it gets an IP via DHCP
- so, I try to set the default-gateway via a kickstart meta-parameter
- the install then continues, but after the reboot, eth0 is not
configured (neither is /etc/resolv.conf)
- is one then supposed to run some sort of post-install script that
"fixes" the network-configuration?
I use
$SNIPPET('network_noncore_deb')
in the pressed/kickstart file, which reads:
d-i netcfg/get_nameservers string $name_servers
d-i netcfg/get_ipaddress string $ip_address_eth0
d-i netcfg/get_netmask string $netmask_eth0
d-i netcfg/get_gateway string $ksgateway
d-i netcfg/confirm_static boolean true
Another issue is that the installer tries to fetch a lot of files that
just aren't in my cobbler-repo of the imported CD.
How can I import the rest of the repo so that the install doesn't pause
so often?
A third issue is that with Ubuntu at least, if the dhcp-server does not
supply a nameserver, the installation will ask for one....
So I supplied a non-existant one - but still, it bothers me a bit.
Thanks in advance

Problem Doing 'cobbler reposync' : apparently damaged repomd.xml file
by Bob Cochran
Greetings all,
I am having a problem when I use cobbler 2.4.0 builtfrom the latest 'git
pull'. Here is the version information:
[root@cobbler1 .origin]# cobbler --version
Cobbler 2.4.0
source: 096fc17, Sat May 25 12:34:39 2013 -0500
build time: Sat May 25 13:50:50 2013
The problem began yesterday (May 24) after an earlier 'git pull', 'make
webtest'. It has been a long time since I've worked with cobbler -- but
yesterday I wanted to see about installing a distro to another computer.
I reasoned I had better get my cobbler repos up to date and synced.
My attempts to 'cobbler reposync' fail.
I did another 'git pull'and 'make webtest' just now. This is my latest
error output from 'cobbler reposync':

How doI fix the damaged repomd.xml file?
Thanks a lot!

cobbler repo sync
by Ronald J. Yacketta
Has anyone noticed that repo sync seems to die if the task log is rotated from underneath it? Been fighting to sync ~20 repo's locally and every morning I come in the past week reposync has died between 3:10 - 3:330, an strace of the process shows its just polling away waiting for something. Just disabled logrotate for /var/log/cobbler/task/* to see if that resolves the sync issue.

help with import
by David Birdsong
IRC was quiet, re-posting...
I could use some help on importing my yum repo. i'm doing an rsync style,
debug log shows rsync completes, but the command line returns 'TASK FAILED'.
cobbler.log shows: "INFO | No import managers found a valid signature at
the location specified" among other non-interesting log lines.
My packages are signed, the local rpm db has the public keys imported. Is
there a way to import the keys to cobbler separately?

getVar - REMOTE_ADDR
by Alex Davies
Hi,
Is there a way to get the client IP retrieving the kickstart file (as
opposed to the IP configured for a given system) in getVar in a snippet?
Something like getVar(REMOTE_ADDR, None)
Thanks,
Alex
