Hi,
When I run

I get the following error

But returns nothing .
[root@Config cobbler]# curl http://localhost:25151/cobbler_api

I am using the web GUI and it works ok, no problems.
When I try to use koan or curl and check the logs
[root@Config cobbler]# curl http://localhost:25151/cobbler_api

In the modules.conf I have
[authentication]
#module = authn_denyall
module = authn_configfile
[authorization]
module = authz_allowall
So I am a bit lost. Any thoughts ?

Restoring an inherited value for a child profile?
by Zack Perry
I have a profile that is created using the command:
cobbler profile add --name=... --parent=...
The child profile's 'Template Files' attribute originally inherited
from its parent. For testing, I changed it using
cobbler profile edit --name=...
Once I was done, I thought that the defaults in the parent profile
were sufficient, so I wanted to restore the <<inherit>> value. But,
neither cobbler profile edit --help nor man cobbler offer any hints
how to do so. I tried the cobbler web UI as a last resort, no dice
either.
Yeah, I can cobbler profile remove --name=... to delete the modified
child profile and then recreate it. It's not that hard, but
conceptually it's uneconomical :-(
So the Q: is it possible to restore an inherited value for a profile
attribute? If so, what is the correct work flow?

Re: [cobbler] cobbler 2.4.0 and problems booting Ubuntu 12.10 desktop 64bit
by Zack Perry
Hi James and Andrew,
Thanks for your two's follow-up. Looks like it's probably a good idea to file a bug report upstream to Ubuntu to Debian's Installation Team? Personally, I think what Ubuntu has done qualifies as a "bug".

Yes. I got that one too!

Gentlemen, please give me a few days. I still have a couple of ideas
to try out before we give up on Ubuntu 12.10 and later completely. I
have a couple of other ideas to try out. Will report back to the list.
Regards and have a great weekend,

Only default distro kickstarting
by Janowiak, Edward
I got my first distro, CentOS 6.3, kickstarting systems very nicely. I added the RHEL 5u5 distro, profile, and simple kickstart template. Any systems I try to build off the RHEL 5u5 distro instead build the original CentOS 6.3. I've verified ksmeta for the distro and profile. The expanded kickstart looks good. I'm at a loss.
Thank you,
Edward

next-server?
by David Lee
Up-front confession: 2.0.11: yes, I know, old.
We have a well-established cobbler set-up for our machines (approaching 100). These are all installed over the same network from a server on that same network (say, "network-main"). So the cobbler configuration is a straightforward single network.
But we now wish to install a couple of client machines over a different network (say "network-alt") The cobbler server also has a port onto this network. So it should be possible to do this. But how?
I tried adding this new client to the cobbler server, and the network installation began. But it quickly paused, because it seems to be trying to mount the images over the original "network-main". (I was able to proceed, because it asked me to re-enter the details, so I was able to give it the server's address on "network-alt".)
But I'd like a cleaner solution. When Cobbler produces "/etc/dhcpd.conf", each host contains a "next-server" entry, which is, of course, on "network-main". So for my new client I tried using a "--server-override=..." giving the IP address of the cobbler server on "network-alt"). Firstly, it didn't like the syntax. Google suggested trying simple "--server" keyword. That looked OK and "cobbler system report" then showed "Server Override" to have the expected "network-alt" value. Looking good.
BUT... the contents of "/etc/dhcpd.conf" still show my new host to have "next-server" on the original, old "network-main". (Yes, I had remembered the "cobbler sync".)
What am I missing? (If there's a known bug about this issue in my old version 2.0.11, then fair enough, that's my problem.)

Cobbler and ESXi 5.1 Builds

Is ESXi 5.1 supported in Cobbler?

Mails from Cobbler
by Personal Técnico
Hi,
We're trying to configure Cobbler for sending an email when system has
been installed. I have read this post
http://www.mail-archive.com/cobbler@lists.fedorahosted.org/msg08546.html, but
our system continues not sending mail.
We do not have configured a local MTA in our cobbler server, but if we
send an email to our MTA (in other server), mail is sent OK.
Our kickstart file includes, at the end of the file, following lines:
[...]
# Enable post-install boot notification
$SNIPPET('post_anamon')
# Start final steps
$SNIPPET('kickstart_done')
# End final steps
But mail is not sent.
Why?
Thanks.

/etc/pki/product/*.pem (or doesn't generate it at all?) so i cant
register with RH with subscription-manager?
I am running just the basic kickstart file.
