AFAIK, the build_report_email.template is just like all the other templates (kickstarts,
snippets, dhcp/dns config templates). I was able to customize my email reports to include
the eth0 ip, arch, owners, dhcp-tag and any ks-meta params that were passed to the
`cobbler system add` command. There is a wiki page on kickstart templating, which I guess
is a misnomer since templating is used in many other files as well. See below for links
to documentation.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how you would query mount info or link status.
Most of that info isn't available until the system is running for the first time. I
think the email template is parsed and sent prior to that happening, even if it
wasn't, cobbler has no control/access to the built system and no native way to query
data from a newly provisioned and running system, to my knowledge. I think you might be
able to pull the disk info as it's configured in the kickstart file, though I'm
unsure how to do so off the top of my head. You could also pass kickstart metadata params
detailing this information up front and query then parse it in the template.
As for querying running systems for info like link status, you might be able to accomplish
that with either func or puppet. Both of which have some level of integration with
Cobbler.
Probably the first place you want to start:

You can learn a lot about templating by reading snippets:

Subject: Docs on build_report_email.template???
I'd like to use the reporting feature in cobbler. Is there any documentation for
build_report_email.template? There's some information I would like to include that
isn't present in the default template. I'm looking for information such as disk,
mount info and link status info. How can I include this?
Thanks
-jeremy
