Installing on Ubuntu Lucid
by lists@truthisfreedom.org.uk
Hi all,
I've written a blog post about installing Cobbler on Ubuntu Lucid at
http://bit.ly/aEUgZO however when I've gon to run it I've run into
issues with the version of Python that's installed.
Are there plans to "upgrade" cobbler to use python 2.6 instead of 2.4?
If not, can anyone recommend how I get rid of the following error
after changing /usr/bin/python to /usr/bin/python2.4 at the top of
/usr/local/bin/cobblerd:
========================
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/cobblerd", line 19, in ?
import cobbler.cobblerd as app
ImportError: No module named cobbler.cobblerd
=====================
Thanks in advance,
Matt
P.S. If we find a fix, I promise to update the blog post!

Sorry - yes - you put it much more eloquently ;) From my understanding regarding domU and F10 - 12 is exactly as you have stated. I assumed 13 should be the same and I can import/use the same... I did forget to mention I am using CentOS 5.4 as the host OS...
My hardware at home is all top of the line circa 2000 - thus my using Xen ;) Wasn't happy with KVM/qemu (mostly because the VMs ran badly)...

My understanding was that with f10 the domU component was implemented within the paravirt-opts interface in the mainline kernel, but that the dom0 had been abandoned. As far as I know you should still be able to run f13 guests on a rhel5 hypervisor. But of course, I don't use xen, I am a kvm man.

I don't believe that Fedora 13 contains a xen kernel anymore. I don't
see a kernel-xen package on my f13 system. So I must assume that only
kvm is supported now?

Subject: Importing Fedora 13 beta...xen?
I was able to import Fedora 13 beta with no errors (I believe)...
I tried to use KOAN to install a VM under Xen - but I see an error about not having the appropriate kernel... Unfortunately, at the moment I cannot reach out to my home network to give the actual error - nor the version of Cobbler I am using (its 2.02 I think)...
Do I need to do anything special when I import Fedora 13? I don't recall there being anything special for prior versions - it just found the Xen kernel it needed and installed for me...

koan virtual disk bus switch
by Xeniya Lisovskaya
Hi all,
How i may install KVM(qemu) VM with virtio disk? I use lvm-based disks:
koan --virt --virt-path=/dev/mapper/kvm--test01-vm04a
--virt-bridge=virbr1 --system=vm05
--server=cobbler01.int.ha-systems.ru
koan try use ide HDD:
virsh dumpxml vm05 | grep ide
<target dev='hda' bus='ide'/>
and. how i may redefine <graphics type='vnc' port='5902'
autoport='yes' keymap='en-us'/> manualy vnc port?
or, i may be use my custom xml-config to koan?
last is greater.
