Hey Laurent,
I have installed RHQ 4.5.1 and I need to know if it’s possible to
query/pool SNMP device to get bandwidth or CPU or … usage ?
Theoretically yes. In fact I have looked into such a plugin in the past, but haven't
found a real good solution for providing
the plugin with the oids to monitor. (*1)
Now with the zip-less plugin descriptor in RHQ 4.5, we could pick that up again analogous
to the custom-jmx-plugin
(see e.g.
http://pilhuhn.blogspot.de/2012/07/jar-less-plugins-for-rhq.html )
I see a snmp agent but I don’t know how to enable it (I have
installed snmp on the server and restart the plugin) and I think that this agent is only
for snmp trap and not for polling.
Currently the agent is the snmptrapd plugin, which acts as a trap receiver only.
