tips when entering bugzillas
by John Mazzitelli
While recently going through and triaging many bugzilla entries, I've
found that it is harder to sift through them all quickly.
Can I ask that when creating BZs:
1) If you aren't going to use the full boilerplate (that is, if you
aren't going to fill in all of the fields), can you "control-A" then
"delete" before start typing the description? I see a lot of this in BZs
and it makes it harder to quickly scan issues to find the meat of the
description:
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
How reproducible:
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Actual results:
Expected results:
Additional info:
2) if possible, use attachments when posting large stack traces. Take
just the top portion of the stack traces and put them in the description
but for those really long stacks (where most of it is usually not
relevant to the issue), use attachments

Release 4.1.0 beta available
by Heiko W.Rupp
The RHQ team is happy to announce the immediate availability of a BETA release of the upcoming
4.1.0 release.
This beta contains a wealth of new features and bug fixes and serves as a preview for 4.1 and
to gather feedback. Please note that some of the new features are still work in progress (and
will be for some time) - this means that *you* can still influence the new features by your
feedback.
You can find the release notes at http://rhq-project.org/display/RHQ/Release+Notes+4.1.0+beta
which also contain a link to the downloads.
We want to especially thank Elias Ross, Fusayuki Minamoto, Jijun Liu, Zhongqianglee
and Rafael Torres Coelho Soares for their contributions
Heiko on behalf of the whole team.

Move RHQ-sources to GitHub?
by Heiko W.Rupp
RHQ has been using Git for two years now with good success. Sources are "hosted" on
a reporitory at Fedorahosted, which is great.
Lately GitHub has seen a big uptake in awareness and also offers very nice features
like pull requests or easy forking of projects.
What is your opinion? Would moving to GitHub enable you to contribute more easily?
Thanks
Heiko
