RHG 4.5.1 | snmp polling
by Laurent Schweizer
Hello all,
I have installed RHQ 4.5.1 and I need to know if it's possible to
query/pool SNMP device to get bandwidth or CPU or . usage ?
I see a snmp agent but I don't know how to enable it (I have installed snmp
on the server and restart the plugin) and I think that this agent is only
for snmp trap and not for polling.
Any solution ?

anyone working with cassandra?
by John Sanda
One of the recent efforts by the core RHQ development has been to investigate alternative persistence/storage solutions for metric and event data. We have decided to focus our efforts around Cassandra. I would love to get feedback from anyone in the community on any of the following,
* Are you or have you used Cassandra? If so, was it in conjunction with RHQ?
* Have you used RHQ to manage Cassandra? If so, would you be willing to contribute anything with the community?
* Would you be willing to provide feedback on using RHQ to manage Cassandra when that functionality is made available?
Some relevant background information can be found on the RHQ wiki at,
* https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Next+Generation+Metrics+Storage
* https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/RHQ/Databases
Thanks

WebSphere plug-in for RHQ
by Andreas Veithen
All,
Some time ago, I mentioned on this mailing list that I'm writing an
RHQ plug-in to monitor WebSphere Application Server instances. That
plug-in was originally developed for my work, but the customer agreed
to release it as Open Source under the GPL. The source code has been
migrated to Google Code and I've recently released version 1.0.0 of
the plug-in. Here is the link to the project:
http://code.google.com/p/rhq-websphere-plugin/
The plug-in focuses on monitoring as well as managing the runtime
state of WebSphere servers; it doesn't contain any features to manage
the WebSphere configuration.
Note that the choice of Google Code to host the code was motivated by
practical reasons. Once the migration of the RHQ project to Github is
completed, and if there is interest, we can move the WebSphere plug-in
to Github as well.
Regards,
Andreas

Unable to Import Agent System in RHQ-4.5
by Prashant Nagaraja
Hi,
I upgraded my server and agents from RH-4.4 to RHQ-4.5. When I am trying to
import a system / resource through the discovered queue, I get error
Failed to import Resources
in the Administrator GUI. The logs/rhq-server-log4j.log is attached to the
mail.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
