Excellent question! And perfectly timed, too. :)
Bart Couvreur was discussing this on IRC yesterday; I think he is
planning on leading the conversion from Wiki to XML. This is the first
step in generating PO for translation. Some of us (Paul, myself) are
supporting the conversion, but anyone here who is interested in helping,
please do. You can learn first hand about how to convert Wiki to XML,
build a book in XML, and support a book that has its canonical source in
a Wiki.
Yes, I'm/we're planning on doing it next weekend or beginning next week
according to how many people would like to join. I'm thinking of the
weekend b/c it's Fosdem and 3 Docs-guys (glezos, McGiwer and me, if I've
missed someone, sorry) will be there (sort of a reverse Docs Hackfest as
with Fudcon Boston), but if people have objections please let shout out
and lets arrange an other date / schedule. We're just waiting for the
wiki-upgrade - that should happen tomorrow - which would make everything
a bit easier.
I'm willing to head this as a way of getting more experience and anyone
else who's willing to join, please do.
Fortunately, conversion is relatively easy. It could be done within
the
next few weeks, if we have sufficient motivation. :)
thanks - Karsten
