George Grispos - Self Introduction
by George Grispos
George Grispos
I live between London UK and Nicosia Cyprus
Im a 1st year student studying Computer Networks
I would like to help out the Fedora Docs Project even though I am fairly new
to Linux. I would eventually like to write tutorials for
the "total newbie".
I am a student at the moment but I have various other certifications (MCSA,
MCDST and A+) and have in the past worked as a Desktop Support Engineer. I
have done some programming before but nothing ever on a commercial level -
Java and C++.

Paul,
Do you think you can schedule a wiki/docbook tutorial session for
sometime in the evening next week? Maybe on Wednesday or Thursday
night around 7PM EST?

Test Case for Yum document
by John Babich
Team Members:
Here is a test case for updating the yum guide, "Managing Software with Yum".
On web page http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/yum/en/sn-yum-proxy-server.html,
there is a typo:
The section:
# The proxy server - proxy server:port number
proxy=http://mycache.mydomain.com:3128
# The account details for yum connections
proxy_username=yum-user
proxy_password=qwerty
should be:
# The proxy server - proxy server:port number
http_proxy=http://mycache.mydomain.com:3128 <==
# The account details for yum connections
proxy_username=yum-user
proxy_password=qwerty
(I found this out the hard way).
The current approach is to file a bug report with bugzilla.
Should we continue with this approach?
Do we correct the wiki version instead and then apply the
fixes to the DocBook version? The wiki page is located at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/Drafts/SoftwareManagementGuide/YumProxy
This is a real example. I am in the process of documenting the
work flow and really would like feedback on this.

FDSCo meeting cancelled for 19-Dec-2006
by Karsten Wade
We're canceling tomorrow's steering committee meeting. Most of us
aren't going to be available. :)
Is anyone going to be around on 26 Dec. for the next meeting slot?
As for time, we are still up in the air about that. I'm thinking we can
pick 1800 PST/2100 EST/0200 UTC?

IPv6 documentation
by Peter Vrabec
Hi folks.
I wrote an IPv6 documentation and I'd like to place on fedora wiki.
But I'm little bit confused of current process, so I'm asking for help.
I really like to do it as easy as possible. My naive vision is
that somebody tell me were I can place link to my documentation
and I'll do it that way. Of course I appreciate any asistence with
this, since I'm not very experienced in wiki.
I have an account and I'm in edit group and I hope I have all other
stuff for that :-)
thnx.
