Release Notes RPM
by Zach Oglesby
Now that we are on the new asciidoc/asciibinder system I was thinking
about the release notes RPM and the fact that the it was generated by
publican. Last I check the RPM is still a blocker for releases, and as
it stands now, we don't have a way to make this with the new source
docs.
My personal preference would be to remove this as a requirement for
releases, but this needs to be discussed with a larger group of people
as I don't think we can just say this is not longer a release criteria.
I am not sure who we need to talk with (FESCo? RelEng?), but before we
talk to them we need to have a discussion about it here and figure out
what the docs team would like to see done so that we are talking with
one voice.

Self-Introduction: Derek "tachyon" Reese
by CYB.tachyon
Fedora Docs Project,
My team has started an internal initiative to get some momentum for a Web
Development Fedora Project Labs Spin. This is a mostly selfish endeavor but
we figure the community can benefit from an eventual stable OSS Web Dev
environment on Fedora.
Our first step is to gather all of our internal documentation, clean it up,
and get a full step-by-step guide on the wiki, including FAQ's,
troubleshooting, and other steps necessary to get a full and modern OSS web
development environment on Fedora 25 & 26.
As far as background goes, I have contributed to other OSS projects such as
Blender and written an amount of internal documentation over my career. I'm
comfortable enough with Fedora to handle my own troubleshooting, and have
been programming in some form or another for 15+ years.
I've also done plenty of presentations at Drupal Camps / Conventions across
the U.S., as well as been part of some teaching opportunities in Florida
and Washington.
We intend to focus solely on OSS Web Development on Fedora (initially, PHP,
node.JS, MariaDB, Docker ecosystems and then expanding) for the foreseeable
future, so if the Wiki has room for a page dedicated to that topic then I'm
your point of contact and page author.
I'm in the Americas/Seattle PST time zone, with most of my colleagues in
the Americas/Raleigh EST time zone, and would of course appreciate a mentor
or at least some feedback.
Thanks all!
- Derek

by Jan Kurik
Join us on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting-2 for the Fedora 27
Beta Release Readiness Meeting meeting.
The meeting is going to be held on Thursday, Sep 14, 2017 at 19:00
UTC. Please check the [1] link for your time zone.
We will meet to make sure we are coordinated and ready for the Beta
release of Fedora 27. Please note that this meeting is going to be
held even if the release is delayed at the Go/No-Go meeting on the
same day two hours earlier.
You may received this message several times, but it is by purpose to
open this meeting to the teams and to raise awareness, so hopefully
more team representatives will come to this meeting. This meeting
works best when we have representatives from all of the teams.
For more information please check the [2] link.
