If this is based on the feedback that a lot of users copy-paste the
commands into their shells and receive an error stating that the prompt

However, this does bring out a separate point altogether - aren't users
expected to *not* do copy-paste and type in the commands (for better
learning etc etc) ? :)
We actually discussed the value of leaving the root # in use as a filter
against people who shouldn't be doing commands as root. :)
