Thanks for the quick response. Checked the site-packages directories and
turns out I was building on x86_64 and installing on i586. An i586
platform won't look in /usr/lib64/site-packages for modules :)

This could happen if you (force?) installed an RPM built on one OS onto
another that had a different version of Python.
The module would end up in site-packages/python2.5 instead of 2.4, etc.
