Is the vnc option for kickstart compatible with cobbler? I tried it
putting it in the kickstart for a system and when it booted it did
run VNC, and I connected, but the install was stuck and not automated.
The screen I got was one for dealing with the disks. It asked:
Below are the storage devices you selected to be a part of this
installation. Please indicate using the arrwos below which devices
you'd like to use at data drives and which devices you'd like
to use as system drives. Please also indicate which system drive will
have the bootloader installed.
It then lists my 3 identical 1TB disks I have in the system with not
way to tell which one is the boot drive. I have never seen this screen
before even when doing manual installs before cobbler.
I can ssh to the box while in this mode and look at /tmp/ks.cfg and the
disk directories are there in the kickstart just fine (the 'part' lines
and such) so I don't understand why when vnc is turned on it starts
asking about the disks. If I remove the vnc option, the install
proceeds automatically just fine.
The reason I really want VNC is that it makes trouble shooting problems
on installs much more convenient. I can ssh into a box that is stuck
but figuring out the problem just from the log files in /tmp can
sometimes be impossible.
