Hi Alan,
Thanks for your response.
I was using ipmi_type as lanplus.
Now,I tried using ipmilan there was no error given out by cobbler.
I tried the following
root@host01:~# fence_ipmilan -P -i 10.1.252.18 - l root -p calvin -o reboot
Rebooting machine @ IPMI:10.1.252.18...Failed
root@host01:~# fence_ipmilan -i 10.1.252.18 - l root -p calvin -o reboot
Rebooting machine @ IPMI:10.1.252.18...Failed
root@host01:~#
Where as the following command, goes through fine and resets the target system.
ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.1.252.18 -U root -P calvin power reset
Versions:
ii fence-agents 3.1.5-2ubuntu2 Fence Agents for Red
Hat Cluster
ii ipmitool 1.8.11-5ubuntu1 utility for IPMI
control with kernel driver or LAN interface
Cobbler simply uses fence_ipmilan and ipmilan uses ipmitool. The first
fence_ipmilan command
you pasted should have called the ipmitool command you pasted. Maybe it
is a problem with
the ipmilan fence agent. I suggest you ask in the fence agents mailing
list (linux-cluster(a)redhat.com).
