I believe earlier issues were user error (me) related, not sure.
I can definitely see this being interesting for statelessy things and other weirdness.

Just asked Matt Domsch on freenode, and the Dell firmware update images are in fact based off of Fedora and livecd-creator, so you can now batch-deploy Dell firmware updates to entire subnets over the network, should you want to do that, following those instructions
cobbler system add --name=updateme --ip=192.168.0.0/24 --profile=LIVE_UPDATE_MY_DELLS # cycle power cobbler system remove --name=updateme
Incredibly neat stuff.
Hopefully more people will start building interesting tools based off of livecd-creator in the future.
