Hi
I created a new profile[1] to make a minimal install using a kickstart.
When I boot up the client, I see the profile, but after a while the installation fails because it could not find the kickstart file in "http://127.0.0.1/cblr/svc/op/ks/profile/centos_64_minimal".
(1) Which URL is this? (2) Why is looking for a kickstart with the name of the profile if I specified the name of the kickstart file: "minimal-ks.cfg"?
- this is going to be in /etc/cobbler/settings. You need to change
next_server and server to be the ip address or dns name of your cobbler server. By default it is set to 127.0.0.1 because we don't really have anything better to set it to.
- Cobbler does templating on the kickstart files. Basically it will
expand variables in the kickstart file you specify to give kickstarts a bit more flexibility (you can really see this in snippets). In order to do this, cobbler points the host at the /cblr/svc address, which takes minimal-ks.cfg, and processes it before returning it to the host. So, if you were to wget that url from the cobbler server, you should see your kickstart file as you expect (with any templating written out).
I hope this helps.
