I created a new profile[1] to make a minimal install using a kickstart. When I boot up the client, I see the profile, but after a while the installation fails because it could not find the kickstart file in "http://127.0.0.1/cblr/svc/op/ks/profile/centos_64_minimal". (1) Which URL is this? (2) Why is looking for a kickstart with the name of the profile if I specified the name of the kickstart file: "minimal-ks.cfg"? Thanks Marcelo
Check in /etc/cobbler/settings for the path to the default kickstart file. It's usually /var/lib/cobbler/kickstarts/default.ks, and that may be influencing the pathing you noted above.
You can also run the following to see if cobbler will tell you what the problem is:
# cobbler validateks # cobbler check
And if that doesn't reveal anything, perhaps rename your kickstart file to have a .ks extension, run 'cobbler sync', and then repeat the two validation commands. I don't have the source code downloaded, so I cannot verify if this is a hardcoded requirement, or not.

Hi Mark
This did the trick. Thank you.
What is not clear to me is when Cobbler reads the ks. This because the installation aborted because there was (is?) an error in the ks file, and despite the changes in it, the installation still aborts in the same place.
I repeated the steps about but seems to have no effect.
Thanks
