I recently upgraded from 1.4.4 to 1.6.6 to resolve some issues installing centos 5.3, since upgrading I noticed that systems are not being registered into cobbler.
I checked that I do have
$SNIPPET('cobbler_register') in my kickstarts
Can I can manually register them after they are installed
cobbler-register --server=x.x.x.x --profile=CentOS-5.3-x86_64 --fqdn=server.domain.net.au
I tried to enable anamon in the settings, in my kickstarts and by starting the anamon service but I don't see to get any output.....
Any pointers on what to look for would be great.
Cheers,
Anthony

If you are doing system-records already they won't register, if you are doing profile installs look at your kickstart and see what line you get for "cobbler register" in there and also make sure that the koan package is installed by the kickstart for starters.

By "systems records already", I mean, for instance, a PXE install where there is /already/ a MAC address for that system (no need to register).
Registration info should show up in your kickstarts for profile-based installs...
Let me know!

Thanks, I was doing PXE profile installs on systems where their MAC was not already in cobbler but I think not having koan installed via my kickstart is the problem I was having... obviously cobbler 1.4.4 used a different method to register the system back to the cobbler server.....
As this doesn't exist in the base repos how is everyone else installing koan via there kickstart?
Is "yum install koan -y" enough after I install the epel or rpmforge repos?
I didn't see any mention on the wiki https://fedorahosted.org/cobbler/wiki/AutoRegistration That koan was a requirement to get this working
