It is a proud moment for us to announce the program details for FUEL GILT
2013 Conference. Here is the full schedule:
We feel proud that Mr Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Public
Information Infrastructure and Innovation (PIII) & Chairman of the National
Innovation Council (NInC), has given his consent to video address the
conference. Thanks a lot Mr Sam Pitroda.
It will be great for us to listen Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, DIT,
Govt. of Maharashtra, as a keynote speaker. Mr. Satish Mohan, Senior
Director, Red Hat and Mr. M. D. Kulkarni, Associate Director & HoD, CDAC,
GIST, Pune are talking about Objectives of FUEL GILT Conference and
Importance of FUEL in eGovernance and C-DACs initiatives respectively. Some
of the veteran open source enthusiasts are participating in our FUEL
Conference : Ravikant, Arjuna Rao Chavala, Gora Mohanty, Ravishankar
Shrivastava, and Guntupalli Karunakar. Seasoned community localizers and
i18n and QE experts are with us: Radhika PC, Rahul Bhalerao, Jayaradha
Natarajan, Kartik Mistry, Satyabrata Maitra, Rajat Gupta, Chandrakant
Dhutadmal, and Pravin Satpute. Arivoli Tirouvingadame, Sadan Jha, Isaac
Rooskov, Mrini Gorla, Sushma Chitta, are our speakers - all are great in
their domain. We have young blood with us as a speaker: Chandan Kumar,

A well-directed imagination is the source of great deeds
We got request from several persons to extend the date of paper submission,
particularly several community members and open source enthusiasts
requested for the extension.

I and Rajesh went to Symbiosis (SCIT) to conduct an introductory session
on Localization for the Final Year students. Localization is certainly a
topic not covered thoroughly in the academics students were eager to
explore the subject. We did speak for about 1.5 hours and showed some
examples, demos, etc around Localization.
Of course the student centric audience is completely interested in doing
technical bits than translations, so having sessions or probably
workshops around development of input methods or font designing or
probably tools development would be an exciting one.
I felt there's a need to conduct series of learning sessions for
students thriving to dive into the language technologies. I am not too
sure about the feasibility of the idea though. Probably you guys could
boost my confidence by offering your help. :)
