Hi,
My blog post about "Contextualization for Software Localization" Concept: Review and modify the source code of software applications in order to add comments or references or context for the translatable messages in order to make them more meaningful so that it could be easily understood by translators that will help us get the best localization in the industry!
and more here... http://www.ankit644.com/?p=296
Thought this would be helpful in further initiatives!

It is over 3 years old, but if time permits, do give http://sankarshan.randomink.org/blog/2009/11/22/contextsubtext-and-inter-text/ a read.

Thanks Ankit for sharing the blog! Thanks Sankarshan for sharing your view by posting your blog post link here. From both blogs, I learnt lots.
I remember one famous quote of Derrida - "There is nothing outside the text " means "There is no such a thing as out-of-the-text" means "There is nothing outside context". And further "context" is the entire "real-history-of-the-world!" And this analogy can be implemented in the software field :-)
I want to reiterate here as well that FUEL gives context much importance and so from the beginning it has given stress on full entries with full context instead of single word glossary.
Ankit, We have 578 strings in Desktop module and we add moble and web it will be c.1500 so we can provide 1500 context as least to the users. Let us think more on it and we will sure can come at better solutions.

I am a bit perturbed and puzzled that you quote Derrida. His method of semiotic analysis or, deconstruction is largely orthogonal to what I see your project achieving. Synthesis of meaning and context is a bulwark of FUEL. Deconstruction is largely a break down of meanings in existing contexts and overturning the opposition while sharply etching them. I don't see the "elemental opposition" that marks Derrida's approach if posited on FUEL.

You are right...I should not try to choose the word 'analogy'...Sorry! Actually by quoting here I just wanted to show the importance of how much importance of 'text' lies in post modern philosophy. I never read Derrida's books, just some articles and novels of post modern Hindi writer...and I am not hesitant to accept that the more I try to understand the term Derridean 'Deconstruction', the more I become confused :-)
