Hello documentation team,
My name is Kenny R. Valdivia. and I'm a Systems Engineering student at "Universidad Católica de Santa María" which is located in Arequipa, Peru. I feel very enthusiastic about contributing to a free software project, and working with people from around the world (and learning from them aswell).
My experience in previous projects, other than the college projects, is
none.
I have been programming in languages such as Python, Java and C++. I feel confident of my knowledge about bash, shellscript and some CLI
tools.
I have some knowledge about Relational Databases, I use postgresql and
mysql for tasks as such.
I have been using fedora for more than a year now, and linux for more
than three years.
I'm an excellent match for the project because:
I like to write, not only code, but in general. I want to contribute to things I feel passionate about, that is, free
software.
I want to see free software and open source take over the world, for good.
I want to join the project because:
I want to improve my skills and consolidate the knowledge I got in
college.
I want to give back to the community, which in my opinion, is the best in
the free software environment.
I love Fedora, is my favorite linux distro, and I would like to
contribute to the packages team too.
Hi Kenny, welcome to the docs project!
If you haven't seen the Wiki pages for new contributors, take a look here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_Docs_Project
We have a meeting on IRC every Monday, starting at 14:00 UTC; you should come say hi there if you can (the meeting has some time reserved for new contributors). If you can't make it, don't worry - if you have any questions, there's always someone in the #fedora-docs channel in FreeNode to answer them. Timezones shouldn't be a problem in your case, we have some people active in the Americas and in Europe so we should be able to catch each other on IRC easily.
When you get on IRC we can talk about what tools we use, and we'll find you something to get started on.
Looking forward to working with you! Petr

Hey Kenny,
I'm glad you could make our meeting today, and talk for a bit later on. You seem like a self-starter, but feel free to reach out to me, another mentor, or the group as a whole as you come up with questions.
