Thank you very much. I'm downloading Libre
Office right now.
Yes, I just installed F15 64 bit on my 3yo laptop.
Had one heck of a time getting the internet to
work, but I finally got it running.
You'll be hearing other questions from me very
soon.

Does anyone know why the directives in /etc/sysconfig/desktop don't work in
F-15 anymore?

OpenOffice and Fedora
by Bill Davidsen
It seems that the future of OO is not so bleak as was originally
thought. OO is now handed to Apache, with the support of Oracle and IBM,
as well as others.

Where is Open Office?
by Mike Flannigan
I'm a new Fedora user.
I understand Open Office is part of the core
distribution, but I can't find it. In Add/
Remove programs "Office/Productivity" is checked,
but only Evolution is in my Office Applications.
How can I start Open Office?
Mike Flannigan
I get the digest version of the list.

CUPS service not starting after upgrade to F15
by Javier Perez
Hi
How do I solve this?
Cups was working perfectly on F14. I upgrade to F15 and now Cups does not
start
[root@bloody cups]# systemctl status cups.service
cups.service - LSB: The CUPS scheduler
Loaded: loaded (/etc/rc.d/init.d/cups)
Active: failed since Fri, 03 Jun 2011 05:52:30 -0500; 10s ago
Process: 1394 ExecStart=/etc/rc.d/init.d/cups start (code=exited,
status=1/FAILURE)
CGroup: name=systemd:/system/cups.service
All I get on /var/log/messages is the following
Jun 3 05:52:30 bloody systemd[1]: cups.service: control process exited,
code=exited status=1
Jun 3 05:52:30 bloody systemd[1]: Unit cups.service entered failed state.
How do I trace what is the problem? Have anyone seen this before?

T-Bird won't open URL
by John Wendel
I'm getting the following error when I click on a URL in Tbird.
This is the 3.1.10 Tbird from F14 using Aurora browser (yeah I know,
it's broken and I get to keep the pieces).
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure
code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)
[nsIExternalProtocolService.loadUrl]" nsresult: "0x80004005
(NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame ::
chrome://communicator/content/contentAreaClick.js :: openLinkExternally
:: line 188" data: no]
Anyone have any words of wisdom?
Thanks,
John

flash reader/writer slot not detected by OS
by JD
None of the Fedora installations I have had (since fc6)
have been able to detect the presence of the SD/SDHC
flash card reader/writer built-in my laptop.
lspci does not show it.
Needless to say, kernel is oblivious to any cards I insert
into that slot.
Interestingly enough, WinXP display it in HW manager
with a big yellow question mark.

plymouth hangs
by Sam Varshavchik
One of the machines I upgraded to F15 can't quite finish booting. It hangs
at plymouth-quit-wait.service. plymouth just doesn't seem to want to go away.
/bin/plymouth --wait spins forever, stracing plymouthd shows that it's stuck
in an epoll(). More details in bug 710737.
Anyone know what's going on?
