color profiles for screens/monitors

Hi guys How do we load & tweak color profiles in Fedora (without using external sensor-devices) ? My Lenovo Thinkbook built-in screen has different (and not adjustable in BIOS) color temperature what my external DELL shows - they are quite different thus annoying. many thanks, L.

[FC8] ssh and CAC card???

From what I understood, the change to openssh listed in: rpm -q --changelog openssh |less as: "* Wed Jun 20 2007 Tomas Mraz <tmraz(a)redhat.com> - 4.5p1-7 - experimental NSS keys support - correctly setup context when empty level requested (#234951) " was supposed to allow the Common Access Card (CAC) to work with the shipped Fedora 8 ssh. As per NSS usual, everything is undocumented, i.e., `ssh-add --help` does not help at all, and `man ssh-add` points to `ssh-add -s reader` # ssh-add -s 0 Enter passphrase for smartcard: SSH_AGENT_FAILURE Could not add card: 0 # ssh-add -s 1 Enter passphrase for smartcard: SSH_AGENT_FAILURE Could not add card: 1 So does anyone know how to use the possible functionality, or are we reduced to reading the source? -- Todd Denniston Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane) Harnessing the Power of Technology for the Warfighter

Apache fails to resume after hibernation

I've noticed recently that Apache often (or perhaps always) doesn't respond after a system hibernate/resume cycle. After restarting it ('apachectl restart') all is well. I could script an automatic restart after resuming, but I wondered if this is a well-known problem with a simpler solution. poc

This list's search engine not working?

Ever since I stumbled across this list, I seem to have major difficulties searching the archives. Say I want to see my posts to the list (they all have the same footer as below), I believe I could go to http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/ and enter "HaJo" as a search string. Searching in all sections, I get 0 results. Does the search engine ignore me by some reason? BTW -- I've been posting since about June, and when showing the archives sorted by author, I do find my posts. OK, not the most helpful to search for my own posts, but I do have the same issue when searching for given topics. Any other search engine out there indexing this list reliably? google-chrome-stable update fails today on gpg keys

Today's dnf update fails with: The GPG keys listed for the "google-chrome" repository are already installed but they are not correct for this package. Check that the correct key URLs are configured for this repository.. Failing package is: google-chrome-stable-121.0.6167.184-1.x86_64 GPG Keys are configured as: https://dl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub

Hi gys, I'm running F38 with *Gnome/X-Wayland*, and in my environment I do not need (hate it) the *Caps Lock* key.Question: How to realize the disabling system wide, and how to get it working again? Go into the BIOS and check the boot list. I'm wondering if you have a Debian entry that is being used. You can also add another Fedora entry that points to the internal hard drive. Yes i have an Debian Entry and a Windows Bootmanager, but no fedora. Before installing fedora Jam i Bad three: Debian, Windows and fedora. And fedora was in the first place, so it starts from there. But how could i insert a New Entry? I think, the BIOS does not recognize the fedora one, or it is not there. If i can install the Boot loader for fedora, then it will work again. [need help] Grub does not find my Fedora39 anymore

Hello, two days ago, i installed fedora jam 39 on an external drive. This runs successfully. BUT after restart and plug off the external drive Grub from my internal drive does not show my fedora39 installation. i have to choose the efi file directly via bios and loading efi file. then it runs. tried the different tips and tutorials from fedora, but in the end after running the script grub2-mkconfig it always recreates the grub menu without my fedora. very annoying. does anyone know, in which way this script identify the different os on my disk? here is the output of lsblk NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTS sda 8:0 1 483,9M 0 disk └─sda1 8:1 1 483,7M 0 part /run/media/held/40f020fb-33eb-406b-a3b0-7f7ba297557b zram0 252:0 0 8G 0 disk [SWAP] nvme0n1 259:0 0 476,9G 0 disk ├─nvme0n1p1 259:1 0 512M 0 part ├─nvme0n1p2 259:2 0 4,9G 0 part ├─nvme0n1p3 259:3 0 510M 0 part [SWAP] ├─nvme0n1p4 259:4 0 600M 0 part /boot/efi ├─nvme0n1p5 259:5 0 1G 0 part /boot └─nvme0n1p6 259:6 0 469,5G 0 part /var/lib/docker/btrfs /home / if any further infos are neccessary, then pls ask. i will try to deliver. hope i will, i am not a developer.
