CPU Overheating on Dell N4010

Hi I am using Fedora 14(64 bit) on Dell N4010. Since I have installed Fedora 14,the CPU fan speed increases incredibly and the CPU gets heated too much. I can't mention the temperature as lmsensors doesn't work on it. Also, cpufreq-utils with "ondemand" setting doesn't do any trick, fan speed is still seems to be at maximum. I installed conky also, it mostly reports only 3% CPU usage yet the CPU gets overheated (the panel below Processor is just very hot even on touching) After an hour of usage, the CPU gets so much heated up that the smell out of fan outlet is like something is burning inside. This problem is not there with Windows 7 Home Basic that came pre-installed (and I can't get rid of it until this problem is solved ) What should I do now or what can be other remedies ? -- Siddharth Srivastava When you have learned to snatch the error code from the trap frame, it will be time for you to leave.

Sir I am using fedora 13 on a sony vaio 64 bit vpcea33en laptop. My touchpad is not working. In the mouse option only general and accessibility options are coming but not the touchpad option. I hope you will help me.

Hello, I am looking to buy a Thinkpad X201S or X201 and run LINUX - Fedora- on it. Anyone else doing the same? I'm looking out for any caveats. Video problem (GME965) in a HP 550

Hi: I've installed Fedora 14 in a HP550 but I'm having some problems with the video, currently working with the vesa driver. I get this [ 21.211] (EE) intel(0): No kernel modesetting driver detected. HP dm3t Laptop Brightness Adjustment

I recently got a new laptop, an HP dm3t (Core i3-380UM+Intel HD Graphics). It's a great machine except that I am not able to adjust the screen brightness in Fedora 14 x86_64. The Fn keys are recognized, the brightness pop-up indicates that an adjustment has been requested, but the screen remains on the brightest setting. I've also validated the brightness values in /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0 are being adjusted. It just seems that they aren't being recognized. I've tried to pass the following acpi kernel params, but the attempts have failed, causing the Fn keys and adjustments to stop working: acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor Any thoughts on what I should try next?
