as the wireless chipset is a Realtek RTL8192SE it works out of the box with newer kernel versions as in Fedora 14. I had Fedora running on this netbook already. Simply booting from a usb disc or external disc drive for testing.

Hi: The best thing is to use a Live CD to test it. If you have any problem send the output of lspci to confirm the model of the card

Good idea, but the Thinkpad Edge 13 has no disc drive :) So he'll need another machine to create a usb disc.
