Kernel Crash
by quentin strydom
Hi,
Can anyone please tell me why I get this kernel crash every time I boot Fedora and how I could fix it please. All I have done is installed Fedora 13 on my laptop and has ever since complained. It doesn't prevent me from using Fedora, but does crash on occasions which can be very annoying specially if I'm working on it.
This is some output I get from the bug reporting tool.

Missing apps/utils on F15
by William Henry
Hi,
I had a pretty successful Fedora 15 preupgrade experience. I like the new gnome 3 too.
Since the upgrade I notice that my System Settings looks sparser. I don't see any screen saver in there. Also Looking at the tutorial @ fedoraproject regarding Creating Custom Launchers I discovered that I don't have a right-click on the desktop. I don't see a way to create custom launchers.
I can't seem to right-click on the tool-bar at the top either.
My F14 had Cairo dock installed. Preupgrade left it there. I quit it today but wonder if I should uninstall a few things like cairo-dock and emerald and compiz in case they are disrupting some gnome3 features.
Any thoughts?
Best,
William

Unable to print monochrome
by Chris Schumann
Hey all,
Since switching to F14, I can't print in black only on my color laser
(HP2605DN FWIW). When I try to change settings, they change back, and the
dialog that used to allow me to change the options now all have it missing.
Everything prints in color always.
Is there a way to switch things back?

most frustrating about fedora 14 on a macbook
by Lars Schotte
the most frustrating about fedora on a macbook 2007 for example mine
is, that everything is working, and it is working better than ever has.
it is working better than w/ macosx and that is a big statement.
the only problem is this shitty ath9k driver on this f*** wlan card
that i am now regretting very hard, that when i opened my macbook for
the first time, i didnt rip that shit out, when it was opened and
stared at me, and i felt like being laughed out because that card was
the only one that was guranteed to work w/ macosx.
i should have teared that piece of sh** out and throw it away and put a
new minipcie intel or broadcom wlan card inside the minipcie slot. i
have brought some time ago one, but i dont have it here and i am not
willing to open the laptop now... because i would need first to buy a
new wlan adapter for a minipcie slot and thats not easy to find.
is someone else experiencing lockups/busy waiting of the ath9k driver
as well?
i hope it will be fixed some time... i posted some bug reports, but
that doesnt seem to help much as i see on the ath9k dev list, they dont
know what to do first. its like everything is falling apart for that
driver.

Fedora 15 EFI and boot loader question...
by Carlo Tambuatco
I'm not a boot loader expert or an expert on EFI so I'll try to phrase
the questions as simply as I can, and maybe you can correct me...
After updating Fedora 14 to Fedora 15, since I am dual booting between
OS X and Fedora 15 on a MacBook Pro, I use the EFI boot loader, and
where there once was a single Linux icon to choose from, there are now
two. One is the standard penguin icon for booting into Fedora 15, and
there is another box icon indicating something to do with anaconda.
There seems to be now two EFI partitions on my disk where originally
there was one. Does the Fedora 15 always automatically install an EFI
partition as part of the install process, and what is the point of it?
Also, I originally tried to install from the Fedora 15 DVD, but upon
booting into the DVD, there comes a dialog asking to choose between 2
boot options, which were unresponsive to any keystrokes on my MacBook
Pro. My BIOS does not seem to want to communicate with the install
disk. So I installed Fedora 14 then upgraded through preupgrade into
Fedora 15.
I am not too familiar with the technical aspects of the Fedora 15 boot
loader or really any boot loader in general, so any information would
be helpful.
