Guys,
I am taking a look in noc01 Nagios Web interface and I am seeing a
alert with 6 hours without any comments, just a "no notification" tag.
Should we remove that check or make some change in server (hosted01)?
My Apologies if I am talking some stupid thing, but I new here and I
am trying doing my best.
Thanks

For many years Fedora infrastructure has been running a
talk.fedoraproject.org asterisk server. This allows contributors to
talk to each other, or send voice mails, etc.
However, it gets very very little usage and also has no one really
maintaining it or fixing issues with it. In the last 130days there have
been a total of 95 calls using the server. There are a number of
outstanding infrastructure tickets on the service that no one has dealt
with. The server running it is running an outdated OS version and
asterisk version.
So, we are going to retire the service on 2011-05-05.
Now, some of you might say: “But I want to use it! what can I do to
save it?” First, as it is now, it’s a waste of a server instance to run
something 24×7 that only processes 1 call every few days. Any plan to
continue the service would HAVE to include some way to increase usage
of the service to make it worth doing. There would also need to be a
group of folks who would help fix issues, enhance the service, help
with updates and so on. A single interested person would be a single
point of failure. If such a group forms and has a plan, please bring it
to the infrastructure list/meetings.
Thanks,
kevin
Hello Infra!
FAmSCo is researching the best way to host a survey in order to help set
our long term agenda. So far we considered limeservice.com. We also
would like to know the viability of hosting it using our own
infrastructure resources.
Thanks,

Hi Guys,
As my first collaboration, following my suggested solution to this problem:
According to that manual of check_http plugin[1], we can use that full
command to monitoring ssl cert:
check_http -H fedoraproject.org -C 20
When the certificate of 'fedoraproject' is valid for more than 20
days, a STATE_OK is returned. When the certificate is still valid, but
for less than 20 days, a STATE_WARNING is returned. A STATE_CRITICAL
will be returned when the certificate is expired.
What you think about this?

Hi guys,
My name is Rafael Gomes, I am from Brazil GMT-3.
I use Fedora since Fedora Core 5, I did help this project in Translation Team.
I am system administration of Linux servers and I have experience with
large environments and I thought that I could help my favorite
distribution.
I used Nagios in the pass, now I use Zabbix, but I can study again. I
can especially help sysadmin-noc FIG.
If somebody wanna be my sponsor, I will try help all you with this hard job.
I can dedicate 1 hours per day.
I contribute for another project[1] and I am technical responsible for CSIRT[2]
My tasks:
Read through how to be a successful contributor - OK
Subscribe to the infrastructure(a)lists.fedoraproject.org - OK (I am here :P)
Sign up for a Fedora Account and sign the CLA - OK (Long time ago)
Send an introduction with some notes about your experience and
skill level to the fedora-infrastructure list (Don't forget this!) (I
am doing this now... :P )
Become familiar with the Infrastructure section on the wiki - OK
Look through outstanding issues - OK
Attend the weekly Meetings on IRC - Waiting happens
Note: Being on IRC isn't absolutely required but if you don't
have access to IRC you will miss a lot. IRC is our primary
communication tool
Once you are familiar with the team and know some people, take
some time to pick a FIG - OK (sysadmin-noc is my favorite)
Now the most important step Get Sponsored. Find sponsors in the
FIG you've selected and keep bugging them until someone says yes. You
constantly coming back and saying I want to help says a lot about you.
We're currently low on sponsors so being around and offering help is
your way of saying "I'm serious, and I'm ready to commit" - I am
trying yet :-(

Ok currently secondary01 is a system with a large amount of diskspace
used by what looks like cruft. There is a very old version of archived
data and there is our secondary architecture items. What I would like
to do is
a) move that data to the netapp,
b) create a new secondary02.phx2 which would mount the netapp and
would allow writing to it
c) move secondary.fedoraproject.org to be an alias to the download servers.
d) make changes in mirrormanager.
This will have the advantage that we will be able to use both mirror
systems on I2 and I1 for this.. it also moves secondary to a larger
faster disk structure. Things I need help with
a) how does sparc, ia64, arm, mips, ppc sync onto this system. There
is no running script that I can find for it.
b) what am I missing in the above.
