How long ago was that? If I remember right, the default start number
in Red
Hat Linux 4.2 was 500....
That's no use if you created the userbase on say SunOS 4.0.
But anyway, there's not enough room below 100, so something has
to give.
Which is exactly why making it configurable is a good idea IMHO.
