Ok, maybe I also misconfigured one of the 2 output ports, since I did
not understand why there were 2. We use serial port (through ethernet
moxa converter) to configure power on the laser.
The laser is a Coherent model Avia UV. Thanks for your help.

Power can be set (depending on the type of laser) via 8 bit Laser Port,
PWM/frequency control or analogue output. Communication with a laser via
additional interfaces like serial port is prepared but currently not fully
implemented (because this requires separate laser communication plug-ins for
every type of laser, their communication protocols are not compatible).
Which laser are you using?
