no, Profibus is not supported by the base package at the moment. But
feel free to can add an own plug-in with that functionality, the SDK
from http://www.openapc.com/download/index.php?c=1&f=opensdk.zip can
help you here.

That was the fix.
I got the current runtime package, was unable to extract it directly
into the root folder.
'Unzipped' it into some folder
Used 'gksudo thunar' in the terminal to launch the file manager with
adequate permissions for the job.
Pasted the folder of openapc runtime /usr folder over to the root of my
executing OpenEditor ( /usr/bin/OpenEditor ) now works.
