Getting onto HP2207
by Beartooth
I have an old Dell PowerEdge SC1420, which ceased to be a server
or to have any form of RAID when I inherited it. Over the years, I've run
many releases of Fedora on it, one or two of CentOS, and I disremember
what all else on it.
Some OSs figure out my HP w2207h monitor on contact, even from
behind the KVM switch where I normally keep it; the last few Fedora
releases have been good about that, iirc.
Some OSs don't while behind the switch, but do if I shut
everything down and connect the Dell directly and alone to the
peripherals.
Some OSs never get it; I have had to tinker endlessly with
xorg.conf a/o grub.conf.
But now F21 doesn't get it, and I can't seem to find a file that
will let me tell it there is such a thing as a 27" 1680x1050 terminal.
(The only plausible candidates so far open with DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE,
and a reference to the other files that set them; but I'm drawing a blank
about any way to reset the setting files.)
Clue, please?

yum or dnf question
by Joachim Backes
Hi guys,
is it possible to run "yum/dnf update [<some pkgs>]" (from the official
repos) together with some rpm file residing on my box (for example
downloaded from koji)?
Example: I need such a mechanism if mutual dependencies exist between
pkgs from the repo and the rpm on my box.
KInd regards

initial-setup
by JD
Has anyone used initial-setup command
to return Fedora to a state without users (other than root),
so that the user will have to set up things like clock, location,
create new user, .... etc ?
I do not want to run it because there is no man page for it and
I do not know what it will do.
Thanx.

fedup from f19 to f21 possible?
by Robert Arkiletian
I have used fedup in the past to hop one version. f17 -> f19. Wondering if
it will work now from f19 -> f21? I know f21 is a little special so I'm
wondering if anyone else has tried it?

Which iso?
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
I wanted to update to 21 (from 20) using a DVD (bad network).
I only find a Fedora-Server-DVD
no Fedora-Workstation-DVD
Is it OK?
Thank.

RPMfusion non-free packages not ready?
by Temlakos
I have just upgraded two different machines to F21.
I dutifully went through all the clean-up steps afterward. I also kept
an Ethernet connection during the boot-to-system-upgrade step. The fedup
program took a downgrade, and yes, I have to remove Google Chrome and
then re-install it to get the F21 build. All as the fedup page told me
to expect.
(And, no, I did /not/ lose wireless connectivity. When I pulled the
Ethernet plug on each system, its wireless adapter immediately found my
router and re-established the connection I had set up earlier.)
This no one told me to expect: it said the RPMfusion non-free packages
for F21 were not ready.
What do I wait for next? Will my systems, once RPMfusion "pushes" those
packages, be able to see them and update the system?
Thanks in advance.

f21 still on mono 2?
by Tom Horsley
I thought fedora was cutting edge :-). Why is the mono on
fedora 21 still at 2.10? There's a mono 3 out there these
days which I need to run the latest RepetierHost.

Disabling a specific key
by Patrick O'Callaghan
I have a keyboard (Microsoft Wireless 800) which has an Insert key right
beside the Backspace and I keep hitting it by accident and changing the
insert mode of whatever I'm typing. I want to disable this key
completely as I can think of no circumstance in which it would ever be
useful. If it can't be disabled I would consider remapping it to a
second Backspace.
Any ideas? I'm using KDE under F21 but I would hope for a general
solution to this.

filezilla going crazy
by SternData
I had to downgrade filezilla from filezilla-3.9.0.6-1.fc21.x86_64 to
filezilla-3.8.1-3.fc21.x86_64 because the newer version put uses 50% of
the cpu on startup, even when not connected to anything.
Is this just me or anyone else seeing problems with today's upgrade of
filezilla?
