the OP said exactly "So how do you handle pdf files(especially in firefox)?"
it is really not my mistake that you are refusing to read and understand
at least with this reply below you could have recognized what the topic
is about
the kind of people like you are the ones forcing my anger
sometimes on lists - if you do not understand what you are
reading be quiet and do not explain people the world

When Fedora 15 just came out, I heard thousands of complaints about Gnome
3. I'm sure a large percentage of people left Gnome altogether. However, I
for one absolutely LOVE Gnome3 - it does exactly what I want a computer to
do. Quick, intuitive, and easily organised (especially, it gets better
with every distro). The fact that you still rant about it, tells me that
you have probably not given it a real chance in the first place.
I'm under the impression that the animosity against Gnome3 is not because
Gnome3 sucks. It's for the same reason many people refuse to leave
Windows, even though they have tonnes of complaints about it: they do not
wish to learn something new. They know their way around a system, and do
not in the least appreciate any form of change.
I don't know you Joe, so I don't know for sure that is the case. But the
"Install enough extensions and hope they don't break" I find a very funny
argument - everything breaks. It always does. It's a law of nature;
nothing stays organised. And that's why Linux is so great - you can and
are allowed to fix it yourself. If you can't deal with that, I know some
OSes that will fix it for you... They cost though, but are great too.
I had to install Xfce on a machine because it didn't have enough hardware
for the full version. I felt - and feel - like I'm computing with one hand
tied behind my back every time I use it...
Gnome3 Rocks. I highly recommend it.

They might well just walk away from development. They're trying to
steer user behavior, and if they cannot do that then they may not have
sufficient remaining motive.
In any case, I don't think that one should quit using the Gnome shell
with the hope that they will reform and then intention of returning
if-and-when they do.

Correct Formula for Rawhide Repo?
by Fedora User
This used to be included in the fedora.repo as "development" but no
longer. I seem to have forgotten how to configure it. Moreover, the
servers now have development packages separated by letters of the
alphabet.

pk-gtk-module?
by Tom Horsley
Mostly just curiosity here: Why does every gtk program in
the universe always print this message to stderr?
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
And if they all want it so bad, why do I never notice
any problem running the gtk app that complained
about?
What the heck is a pk-gtk-module anyway?

"Eddie G.O'Connor Jr-I" <eoconnor25(a)gmail.com>:
The reason you're not getting any updates, is because Fedora stops
maintaining a distro when the current distro reaches N+2 - we're currently
in Fedora 17, so Fedora 15 is no longer maintained. I suggest you upgrade.

That behavior is a feature of the Gnome shell, rather than of Fedora
as such. Attributing it to Fedora is equivalent to attributing the
behavior of bash to Fedora.
Unless you are prepared to argue for Fedora ceasing to provide the
Gnome shell as its default shell -- which cessation I think would be a
very fine idea -- you are objecting in the wrong place. You need to
address your otherwise legitimate complaint to the developers of the
Gnome shell.
However, don't expect them to pay much attention. Shell 3.x was
developed with the explicit notion that users had been doing things
wrong, rather than in service to how users plainly wanted to do things.
The Gnome shell is highly configurable, and kind souls have provided
configuration patches to change this particular behavior, albeit that
subsequent Gnome development tends to break configuration patches.
I suggest that you investigate some of the other shells.
