Yes, it's Adobe Reader which is opened and displays the .pdf file.
And it works perfectly together with and out of Firefox without any
32-bit plugins.

originated from. Now I see what you mean, but you maybe should stated
more precisely that you are discussing inline .pdf view, while the main
topic originated from something like "Is there a 64-bit Acrobat Reader which can
handle .pdf files in combination with Firefox?"

or any other of the free viewers in the repos
yum search pdf | grep viewer
if you REALLY think you need PDF in your webbrowser (why?)
use mozplugger, normalyl nonone needs a pf viewer inside
a browser window
