Celestia Space Simulator
by Michael Miles
Hi all
I have recently installed Celestia Space Simulator and it worked really
well for about 10 minutes then crashed and will not start up any more.
I have removed it and re-installed it and still it starts with the
beginning banner and then crashes with no abrt warning.
This is a beautiful sim and I am just wondering if anyone has had the
same problems with this software.
It bugs me because it worked and I was flying through the universe when
I crash landed on mars, it just quit!!!

Removing evolution rpms
by JD
I would like to remove evolution rpms, but
I am surprised to see that packages that were
there before I had installed evolution packages,
are now dependent on evolution packages, and yum
would remove them.
Packages like:
gdm
gnome-session-xsession
desktop-effects
gnome-session
gnome-panel ...etc
Is this a sane thing for yum to do
or are the deps really screwed up?
$ sudo yum erase evolution-data-server evolution-data-server-doc

Re:[RESOLVED] Screen Resolution in Fedora 13 on Intel i915 Chipset
by Samuel Kidman
Hello
Thanks for all of your responses, however the problem seems to have gone
away again. I think the issue initially stemmed from plugging my computer
into a 720p HDTV via VGA while the mode was still set to 1680x1050, so I'll
raise this issue again with more detail if it comes up after doing that
again.

rm and old rpms
by Frank Murphy
Hi,
Looking for a method to remove old rpms from a local repo using mtime,
as *fcX cannot be used in this instance.
It will end up being run as a daily cron job.
Does this look ok?
find /path/local.repo/*.rpm -mtime +200 -exec rm {} \;

FC12 forcing hard reboot
by Tod Thomas
I yum upgraded to FC12 recently and now my machine is locking up hard a
couple of times a day. I've upgrade two other boxes similarly and they
haven't had this problem. Is there any way to debug this? I can
provide more information as requested.
Thanks - Tod

Not necessarily, but sometimes what appears to be a folder on one partition is really a partition on another drive. For example, I have a 2 drive set up: The first drive is the / partition containing all the system directories (folders) including /home; but /home is not a true directory (folder) but the "mount point" for a partition on the second drive which is the actual "home". In this case, the /home folder is a partition. It isn't always.
To help with your problem, need to know how your drive is configured for Linux. Post the output of the following three commands.
df -h
cat /proc/partitions
cat /etc/fstab
You might be able to use something like gparted to resize your partitions to get more space on your / partition.
Also, please only post plain ascii test here. Thanks.

Root File System Maxed Out
by earlscott3@comcast.net
I am a new user to Fedora.
I ran the latest updates and pulled 404 updates. One of the updates stated it needs more room on the root file system in order to download it.
The root file system is maxed otu at 3.3gb in size. How do I get free space without messing up my Fedora? I made an initial 40gb partition and still have 34gb to use. Does Fedora consider each file folder a different partition?
This command line OS is hard but I am willing to learn.
