Problem with SELinux
by Paul Smith
Dear All,
I am experiencing the following problem with SELinux on F14:
Nov 23 12:49:33 localhost kernel: [ 4881.260409] type=1400
audit(1290516573.348:31748): avc: denied { execstack } for
pid=14597 comm="myprogram"
scontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023
tcontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023
tclass=process
How can I circumvent that?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Wireless drivers
by Mike Chambers
Would someone be able to possibly tell me the most used wireless drivers
in laptops that are mostly supported by Fedora, out of the box and not
require much 3rd party support? For example, intel, realtek (sp?),
atheros, etc..are those open source drivers or at least supported fairly
good? Is there a website that can easily print/look at and see what
works and what needs 3rd party support?
Thanks ahead of time,
Mike Chambers

How to get an USB scanner running under Wine?
by Joachim Backes
Hi,
I'm running f14 with an installed wine-*-1.3.7.2, especially wine-twain.
My scanner is an USB attached Canon Lide 30, running properly with xsane
in F14.
Now installed the windows version of vuescan (because of curiosity; I
don't need it really) under wine and tried to get it running, but
vuescan says: No scanner found.
Any hints for getting it working?
Alls hints are welcome.
Kind regards

I can upload the files to sourceforge, then...

rtl8180 freeze some i386 systems
by Franta Hanzlík
On two PCs with Fedora 14/i386 these systems freezes just after command
"ip link set wlan0 up" was entered.
"freezes" meant system is totally unuseable, ping to LAN interface
hasn't reply, kbd/mouse not work, only way is HW reset/power off.
This hang occurs always independently on system runlevel: when switch to
runlevel 1, when only kernel threads + udev + root bash are active,
system still hangs.
Systems hangs on all tested kernels 2.6.34, 2.6.35.9 and 2.6.36.
Systems hangs with implicit cmdline and too when using "nomodeset",
"acpi=noirq", "acpi=off", "pci=biosirq", "pci=routeirq", "pci=noacpi"
parameters.
I have two Zyxel "G-302 v3" wifi adapters reported as RTL 8185 rev 20
(10ec:8185), which on other two PCs with F1{3,4}/i386 and same config
works well.
Can someone help with? Is some general method for solving this issue?
Thank in advance, Franta Hanzlik

usbip: how to build or find the driver
by Dario Lesca
hi, I want share a usb key via IP and I have found this project:
http://usbip.sourceforge.net/
Someone can help me to find the usbip_common_mod.ko, vhci-hcd.ko and
usbip.ko module for fedora 14?
Into Readme file of project, for build the driver i see this:
"For newer kernels ( >=2.6.28 ), try linux-staging code!"
what is "linux-staging code"?
where is the drivers?
I'm not a kernel guru ... so ... please point me into right way
In some other distro, like SuSe o AltLinux o mandr* there is a rpm
package, bur for Fedora no.
Thanks.

No keyboard with GDM on F14
by Jean Francois Martinez
When I boot F14 and I reach the GDM screeen there is simply no field to
enter the user ID and no user list, apparently it doesn't detect the
keyboard. This happens both with an USB keyboard and with a PS/2 one.
If I force a restart of GDM either through CTRl-ALT-BS or through a
telinit 3, telinit 5 on a non-graphiacl console then then new GDM works
as it is supposed to do.
My guess is that Dracut starts GDM before the keyboard and that is why X
doesn't detect it and GDM doesn't work.

Unable to send message to PackageKit
by Hiisi
Dear list!
Whenever I install/update anything on my system with yum I got this
message in yum output during transaction:
Unable to send message to PackageKit
The packages installed or updated seems to be working. Google/bugzilla
search results in nothing appropriate. Can I just ignore this messages?
My system:

yum update package dep conflict
by JD
Seems that there is a conflicting dependency on
openssl.
Currenly installed packages that need it, are using
openssl-1.0.0b-1.fc13.i686 which is installed,
whereas package libguestfs (available
from updates) triggers a requirement for the older
openssl-1.0.0a-1.fc13.i686
# yum install libguestfs

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
libguestfs is from updates repo:
# yum list available libguestfs

libguestfs.i686 1:1.6.0-1.fc13.1 updates
Hope the updates repo maintainers will rebuild
libguestfs to use latest openssl version.
