Hi people!
by Alex Miua
Hi everyone : )
I finally was successful in installing FC6. It looks
pretty neat.
One question : Are only the 1st 3 Cd's required to
install FC 6 ? What the the remaining CD's for ?
Thank you,
Alex.

kwallet - Am I doing something daft or is it screwed up again?
by David Fletcher
Using FC5, up to date.
I can add or modify entries in my kwallet, click the save button and all seems
well. I can check another entry, go back to the one I just changed and the
information is there.
But it fails to save the updated wallet.
If I log out and back in again the changes are gone and the file size is the
same as before.
Anybody else experienced this?
Last week I set a security code on one of my bank accounts, entered it into
kwallet for safe keeping and to my horror it was gone next time I logged in.
This is a BIG PITA.

Yup, in an xterm. I didn't realize that there'd be a difference between
that and another.
So, what is 'VT'? I'm not familiar with that acronym. Is that what I get
when I use ctrl-alt-{F1-6}?
I got it to work, but had to add 'setterm blank ...' to what you stated.
Perhaps I just don't understand the powersave feature (even tho I read
the man page).

Not long ago, I shared similar view-- for home use, minimal security should be
"Good enough".
Two things changed my mind:
First, I was doing research for a paper on the current state of wireless security and
was shocked at how many security flaws existed in the early wireless protocols.
For example, I can determine your WEP key and SSID by passively listening to your network.
This can be done with freely downloaded code. Changing one's MAC address (to match
your filters) has been available for years and doesn't require any additional software.
Second, we were talking about this topic and one of my friends told me his neighbor had
been named in a lawsuit over theft of digital music (Sony was suing him). Turns out that
the neighbor hadn't done anything illegal, but someone had been using (stealing) his
home WiFi network to download music.... took him a while (and $$$) to prove he was innocent.
Do a Google search on "War driving"-- it's becoming a popular hobby...

xsession-errors
by François Patte
Bonsoir,
I have some errors I don't understand in my xsession-errors:
1- Scim
Couldn't establish a connection to :9202: IO::Socket::INET: Bad
hostname ':9202'
2-
The program 'gnome-screensaver' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadColor (invalid Colormap parameter)'.
(Details: serial 230 error_code 12 request_code 1 minor_code 0)
screensavers are not working....

Since the last update (firefox-1.5.0.9-2.fc6) the firefox about:plugins
