I didnt look into the code yet, But I certainly will. I have some ideas
about possible improvement.

the only problem to me now is the battery indicator. I can switch
between the percentage mode and time mode, but I don`t see the way how
to adjust the time mode. Means, where to specify the maximum time my
laptop can run on batteries.

still waiting for new release.
by the way, This is probably a dumb question, but I just discovered that
I have no idea how to change the specfile in src.rpm. I just never did
it before.

Re: x86_64 system crashes every 7 days
by Todd Simi
Hi,
I've had a similar problem since I added an SATA drive as well. But,
it's every 2 days or so, if I don't use the system. I get a error
message on the monitor about the SATA timing out.

Re: sharing fc3 swap space with Centos
by Peter Skensved
John,
You can share a swap partition as long as you shut down
properly ( like telinit 6 or whatever ). I do it all the time.
The swap partition is recognized as a proper swap parttion by
the next kernel.
Swap Suspend on the other hand re-writes the swap partition so
booting another kernel will likely have dire consequences since
to it, the swap partition looks corrupted but it may or may not
recognize that. Also, your filesystem will be in a weird state
and it will have to be fsck'ed. You will probably have to boot
in rescue mode and have to run mkswap before things will work
again.
You can use the noresume option to turn off swap suspend altogether.
Booting the same kernel from a swap suspended system with the
noresume option lead to the same mess as above.
Look in the acpi-howto for more details. It has a good summary
of what suspend1, 2 and 3 does.

perms on sendmails spool dir?
by Gene Heskett
In doing some housecleaning in /var/spool, I deleted some empty dirs a
few days ago, one of them being clientmqueue. Then I noted I wasn't
getting any system or cron generated email, and connected the dots when
sm_client failed on a reboot.
So I've recreated that dir, and restarted sendmail but still no system
mail from things like amanda is being rx'd.
Whats the proper perms for sendmail related stuffs?

Cheers, Gene
People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)

version or path issue w/ libstdc++.so ?
by J.Moore
I use PasswordSafe on my Windoze PC, and wanted to install it on my
Fedora PC. So I got the binary from http://www.semanticgap.com/myps/ and
did a make install as instructed.
However, when I try to run it, I get the following error:
$ MyPasswordSafe
MyPasswordSafe: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Running 'locate':
$ locate libstdc++.so
...
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.3
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
...
$ echo $PATH
/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/home/jamoore/bin
So, it turns out I don't have "ibstdc++.so.5" on my system (FC3), but I
do have "ibstdc++.so.6". I'm guessing this is a later version???
Q: Do I have a version issue, or a path issue?
Thanks,
Jay

Driver for Modem Intel 537EP
by Paulo da Silva Silveira
Helô..
I need of a good driver (or patch for kernel) for modem Intel 537EP,
because I already search in many sites, I find many drivers versions
and, in the best case the modem freezes the kernel during the
connection process or 20 minutes later.
The kernel version in my Fedora Core 4 is 2.6.11_1XXX_fc4
This is the my 50º endevor to solve this problem.
My language is Portuguese.
My country is Brazilian.
Please... Help-me!
OBS: I already try the many drivers in the intel site and nothing.
Copiling and Run, but freezes the kernel some time later.

problems running 3-d applications
by Ankur Nayak
Hi,
I am having problems running 3-d applications on my system. I have fc3
installed on a p4 2.4ghz intel 865 m/b with 32 mb inbuilt graphics memory.
Eearlier my 3-d applications were running fine. But, recently I installed
nvidia drivers to test my friend's new graphics card and it was working
fine. I had made changes to xorg.conf to enable the drivers. Now, I dont
have the graphics card anymore and I restored my xorg.conf back. But now
graphics is not working for me. On starting "glxgears", I get the following
errors...
